Howard Shore‘s own hand scribbled these notes that we’ve been hearing every Saturday nite since the 70′s.
Apparently this song has never been recorded but played every Saturday. Some of the best NY studio musicians have played it at studio 8H at Rockefeller.
I can’t really find it anywhere except on this youtube splice >> (Lenny Pickett on sax — tell me that sound is not ingrained in your head from numerous opening and closing credits)
don’t fucking blame me for posting this dood. i know feist is supposed to be the background music in coffee shops full of hipsters mad at starbucks but still willing to pay 5 bucks a cup but c’mon, it’s sesame street.
i’m not a huge fan of the more recent cheesy stevie wonder stuff, but check this shit out (which i have posted before):
gotta teach the kiddos to rock and not grow up to be lame-os

Checkout the song “Swimmers” on BSS’s MySpace page. Sung by the lovely and talented Leslie Feist, who is probably most known for “1-2-3-4“, from that iPod ad.
Something about the continuousness of the notes that come out of a theramin makes me laugh. I dunno … this interpretation of the classic Legend of Zelda theme is … nasally?
These lyrics i lifted from some other site, but i love them:
Well someone said i made a mistake
Kept looking forward on paths sideways
It’s everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Seasons always shift too late
Spent too much time now on paths sideways
Everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Thank god it’s over….
